Instagram added a new sales tool that allows brands to add price tags and additional details on products for sale that are in an Instagram photo. Only 20 retailers have been asked to test out this new tool.
What this means for marketers: Instagram is making it easier for consumers to buy and learn about the products from the top retailers in the country. Price tags and details will be added to select products for sale in an Instagram post. After a user clicks on the item, it will send him or her to the retailer’s website to purchase. Not only will this allow retailers to highlight their products in a natural environment, but it could also lead to more sales.
